The zone diet plan is invented by Dr. Barry Sears, a scientist who dedicated over 30 years of his life in studying lipids and the author of the book “The Zone”. If I have to follow a diet I would choose the zone diet. It's very natural and logical for me. It can be done by anyone and everywhere.

Dr Barrys Sears' idea is very simple and the main purpose of this diet plan is to balance the hormones by using the formula 40:30:30.
How Does the Zone Diet Work?
If you divide your plate into three parts and place the certain group of food onto the plate, you will get the proportion you need to follow this formula.
40 – Carbohydrate
30 - Protein
30 – Fats
This process could be achieved through choosing the best resources of micronutrients and using The Hand Method.
The whole idea of the zone diet plan is into balancing the amount of released Arachidonic acid into our bloodstream. Arachidonic acid is not part of the essential fatty acids. It’s been used as an anabolic bodybuilding supplement in many products. You can find Arachidonic acid in egg yolk.
The overproduction of this fatty AA acid causes inflammation within the body and hormonal imbalance.
The role of insulin
Years ago we’ve been told to eat more carbs and the results are higher percentage of obese people.
Carbohydrates stimulate the secretion of the hormone insulin. Insulin is our body storage hormone. The body stores carbs in three areas: liver, muscle cells and fat cells.
Liver cells and muscle cells don’t have enough storage capacity; therefore carbohydrates have only one choice to go to: fat cells. Fat cells have the ability to swell up to 1000 times from their original size. Another problem is that they start dividing into two when it’s needed.
Human’s body needs insulin to function properly but too much glucose in our system is toxic for the brain.
The other purpose of insulin is to stop the release of fat from the cells into the bloodstream. It means that there is enough fuel within our body. The result: we don’t use our fat storages. It’s not good news for those who want to lose weight.
Here is the other problem: if we eat too much protein but not enough carbohydrates we’ll get to the state called ketosis when our body brakes down muscles for energy.
In conclusion, by maintaining the right levels of insulin we can prevent ourselves from gaining weight and cellular inflammation, caused by toxic fat.
In my opinion and experience the zone diet plan is really safe for weight loss. It could be used by anyone who is looking for simple weight loss solution.
